Hah I forgot all about that i have a copy too, and i have a windows 98 dedicated to running it because XP wont.(the original copies that came with a certain computer does not work with the patch for XP) besides that the game is probably the closest (and the best) to the sega cd version without the sound loading times on the sega cd. In-game the Gemes version has clear water in some levels where it's supposed to be colord, but nothing that effects gameplay.Īnd the past levels are CD audio in th PC/Gems ports while the SCD version had them generated by hardware in real-time.

Note that the Gems version is a port of the PC version anyway, and more or less identical except the opening cutscene is fullscreen rather than cropped (the original animation being fullscreen, but cropped for the Sega CD recording) and has better compression (plus with the patch for 3l/XP etc, it only runs in 256 color mode so the cutscenes are a bit dithered compared to the sourse indeo. (at least with an ISO, it've had some issues with running real CDs, though that could be related to problems with the CD-ROM drivers) (and will run fine on win9x -which it was designed for -though I think there was at DOS/Win3.1 version too)Īnyway it's quite cheap to find online (I got my copy for $1 plus shipping -disc only though). Get the PC version of Sonic CD, works fine with the easily available patch on pretty pretty much any win32 OS (2000 XP Vista), not sure about 64-bit though. Sorry, but I might have another "C" suggestion.
